Just one more...
When I grow up, I wanna be...
I was just thinking today of back when I was younger all the things I always wanted to be and it made me kind of laugh.
I remember being really small, maybe eight-ish? And had watched Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome and had decided I was gonna change my name to Max Traxx ('cause it sounded so awesome back then, heheh) and be a renegade.
Later I decided after I discovered Super Mario Bros. that I was going to make games with Nintendo when I grew up when I was about 10. I actually stuck with that until I was about 16 when I discovered genetics. I knew then that wanted to get a degree in microbiology and/or genetics, and knew that I'd be able to be the first scientist to achieve immortality with the aide of a well manufactured retro virus and knowledge of the right amino acids after they mapped the human genome... god, what I a geek I was (or am, :P)!
After high school, having the great parents I had I tried my hand as an author and started writing a book. Got pretty far too, about 318 pages before I had accidentally deleted it one night. Reformatted my computer because it was on the fritz, unfortunately I was a little buzzed and totally forgot about the book. Had the beginning of it on a disc but had stopped saving it regularly after about 100 pages... don't know why.
Then I packed up what I could and gave the rest away, driving out to California to make a new start. After working for only a while, I decided I was going to join the military and live a life of adventure. Yeah... only lasted about nine months.
All these dreams and all I've got to show for it are two effing cats! :P
That and the love of my life... but thats it!

Bioshock
I am, if nothing else, a big gamer. Always have been, probably always will be. I blame Mario... hey, if my dad thought he was cool, then it was super cool to me! Anyway, I've played a ton of games throughout the years, but the ones that always get me aren't the ones with the fastest paced action, best graphics, most gore, etc. The ones that really get me are the ones with the best, most intriguing, original and greatest story lines. Kinda ends up being an interactive book or movie. That plus if the trailer is insanely good too... which brings me to the game called Bioshock. Really original story, and fun game if you like to shoot things and solve puzzles... and solve puzzling ways to shoot things.
PS... I really love the old music in the second one!
*Warning*
The first (top) one ends up being a bit gory, just for the faint of heart.

I am feeling bummed because I miss my GTO
Mmmmm... Beatles
I'm kind of bored and downloading some good tunes. I've had The Beatles stuck in my head for some reason to I figured I might as well give in and listen to 'em for the moment and share them all for everyone else! Enjoy!
*Sorry... took 'em off to make another playlist... sorry!

Christmas in Chicago
Me and my fiance have been planning to go to Chicago for Christmas this year and I can't wait. I've been kinda stuck in this little town of Eureka in northern California, and, no offense to anyone, but I've decided California isn't the state for me. From San Diego to in the northern tip, I just can't dig it that much anymore. Especially this little smudge on the map of Eureka. Eee... potheads, tweakers and hippies... oh my.
For instance, I used to give a little bit to any homeless person I met on the street if I could spare the few bucks... but anymore in this place, I just walk on by. I feel bad sometimes because I think "What if that person could really use it?", but I've honestly never seen so many people who literally choose that lifestyle. I know most don't choose that lifestyle, but because of this area's tolerance, no, not tolerance but almost praise for those who live a transients life, there are so many handouts that its ridiculous how well they live! Tons of shelters, both public and private put on by citizens, tons or programs and employers who'll just pay them under the table for odd jobs like washing windows and mowing lawns, etc. Sounds really good right? I thought so until I realize that many were just lazy and living off the programs... call me horrible, but you'd have to see this place for yourself to believe it.
ANYWAY... getting off track here. We're heading to Chicago and I want to show here the city itself for 2-3 days and am compiling a play list or play lists of some great music that reminds me of Chicago. Hoping to remember lots of blues, motown, original R&B, classic rock and the works. I'm just gonna share the play list here and if anyone's got any suggestions, it would be super appreciated!

2. Bill Withers - Use Me Up

4. Chicago - Saturday in the Park
5. Doobie Brothers - Your Still the One
